It was his night and his win, this young man did what had never been done before, the best reaction times and put the first Corvette into the winners circle on the Speed TV series Pinks-All-Out. The episode which aired Thursday night August 7th showed just how close the competetion was and was proof positive that any miss cue would send you packing home.
Thursday nights victory showing at Andretti's Entertainment Complex in Roswell, GA was aired on the big screen for a large crowd of cheering Corvette fans and friends of Paul Jr. The very proud father Paul Smith Sr. whose expression after his sons victory was priceless! Anyone who knows Paul Sr. knows it had nothing to do with the prize money or a tool box, all proud parents could relate to this once in a lifetime event.
Of course credit also will have to be given to MTI RACING, Reese Cox with his tuning and the rest of the crew who did work on Paul Sr's 1998 C5 Corvette helped to make this all happen for Paul Jr, any lag in top end power, miss fire or improper shift point and Jr. would not have crossed the line ahead of that bad ass hotrod Hudson. All Corvette fans check your local lisitings for Speed TV and catch the repeat episodes on this one! Its no brag, just fact, but did everyone notice how sharp that C5 looked next to the competitions vehicles, who says hotrods shouldn't look good!
